College Life

What Being A Lope Means To Me

When it came down to the time in my Junior year of high school to choose a college, it was incredibly easy for me because I knew where I wanted to go to college for almost a year.

I had visited Grand Canyon University early on in my Junior year of high school and I fell in love from the moment I stepped onto campus. Everything from the kind people, to the nice dorm rooms caught my eye.

Christian Community

The Christian community is one of my absolute favorite things about GCU. Ever since attending, I have grown closer to God more than ever before. Everyone is so supportive in helping you grow in your faith and helps to bring you closer to Jesus. Everyone has the same Christian values and helps you strive to be a better Christian every day.

Finding My Purpose

GCU’s slogan is “Find Your Purpose” and that could not be more true. Going into college I had no idea what I wanted to do. I went in with the most basic major and decided to figure it out from there. I was taking my gen ed classes and one of those was English. I absolutely loved my english classes and was doing very well in them. Ever since then, I decided to change my major to English to pursue a professional writing degree.

GCU helped me to find my passion and what I want to do in life and as cheesy as it sounds, to find my purpose.

Making Lifelong Friends

All throughout my childhood and growing up, I had a hard time making friends. I was not the most popular girl or had a ton of friends. Once I got to GCU, I made so many friends and grew close to so many people. I made friendships that I know will last a lifetime. I have met the most amazing and loyal people that I know will always have my back no matter what.

I have met the girls that I want to stand by my side on my wedding day and have in my life through every up and down from now until the day that I die. I love them and care for each and every one of them dearly, and I know that they love me just as much.

I could not have made a better decision than GCU. I have no regrets with choosing to go to Grand Canyon University for my college education. Not only am I getting a great education, but I’m also making new friends, and experiencing new things. If I had the opportunity to choose a college all over again, my decision would not change. I would choose GCU 100 times over again. College has been the best season of my life. It has been difficult mentally, emotionally and even physically, but I would not change a single thing, because I have grown more in the last three years than I have in my entire life.
