Don’t Beat Yourself Up About The Things That Don’t Work Out

When things do not work out or go your way, it is easy to let yourself get defeated and down about it. Do not beat yourself up, things do not work out for a reason. Heartbreak is painful, that is why they call it heartBREAK. Here are some reminders to give you motivation to keep going.

One of my favorite songs at the moment is Red Ribbon by Madilyn Bailey. The main lyrics and the ones that resonate with me the most go like this:

“I’ll take this red ribbon
Stitch my heart together
It will heal give it time”

Pick Yourself Back Up

Yes, it hurts. It hurts a whole lot. You want to lay in the fetal position on your bed, underneath the blankets and never come out. I get it. I’ve been there. But there are so many new opportunities waiting for you out in the world. But if you hide, you will miss them.

Pick yourself back up, wipe your tears, put on a smile, and go out and conquer the world. Use this experience as a lesson to continue to build off of. You will never let whatever broke you get you down again. You are now stronger and better than ever. Use this new knowledge in your new experiences and you will be given bigger and better opportunities.

You Tried Your Best

“Don’t beat myself about the things that didn’t work out
Least I can say is that I tried
I’ll take this red ribbon
Stitch my heart together and I know I’ll be fine”

If you gave it your all, then you did everything you could. Be proud of yourself for trying. You will not succeed at everything. We all fail, and that is okay, because we all learn from our failures. Do not beat yourself up for the things that do not work out. Things are not always in your control.

Things Will Work Out For The Better

I know it doesn’t seem like it right now, but everything will work out. This is only the beginning. I know it feels like the end, but it is not. I know it is easy to want to throw in the towel and give up.

But the pain will be worth it.

“Remember all of the pain, was it all too much?
Remember falling apart everytime we touch
Remember going insane but I’ll never give up
A heart that’s been broken is a heart that’s been loved”

Learn from the hurt. Learn from what hurt you and what broke you.

You do not know what is coming. You do not know how to continue on. Take it day by day, and I promise you, better things are coming. This is only a small stepping stone to your final destination.

You Will Heal

“’ll take this red ribbon
Stitch my heart together
It will heal give it time
It beats a strange rhythm
But I’ll still go on living
When I don’t get it right”

Life will continue on. Healing takes time. Stitch yourself back together and help yourself heal. Take care of yourself, because your health is most important.

Memories will fade, and you will continue to grow. Let yourself feel the emotions that you are feeling, but do not dwell on them. Let them come and go and express those emotions as you see fit. This is part of healing. If you do not express your emotions, then they will stay bottled up and eventually they will overflow, and come out in unhealthy ways eventually.

Be patient with yourself and give yourself time to heal. We all heal at different paces. Do not compare yourself to others. You are your own person and you are allowed to grow at your own pace.

Stay strong. You will heal and move on and come out stronger and better than ever! Do not lose hope.
