Your Home is Toxic!

Up until recently, I had no idea how toxic and full of chemicals, hormone disruptors and carcinogens our everyday products are. The products that we put on our bodies and use in our homes are so toxic and are causing more harm than good in the long term.

Chemicals Banned In The U.S.

Did you know that the United States only bans 11 chemicals in their consumer products. That is ridiculous! To put that in perspective, Europe bans about 1,300 chemicals in their consumer products! That is a huge difference. It honestly disgusts me. There are so many chemicals we are using and putting on our bodies and in our homes and washing our clothes and our dishes in, that are causing cancer and making us sick and having negative effects on our mental health that we need to make a change. I am here to help educate you and to help you make these non toxic changes in your house.

Labels Lie

We are always told to check our labels, to read the ingredients, but labels actually do not have ALL the ingredients listed. Legally, these companies do not have to list all the ingredients. For example, when you see the word “fragrance” that means it is a compound of harmful chemicals mixed together to smell a certain way but they are actually harmful to our bodies and full of carcinogens and hormone disruptors. This is in things like, perfume, body wash, shampoo, candles, laundry detergent, dryer sheets and so much more! Do not believe everything the media tells you because they fabricate things to get you to buy these “well known big name brands”

Chemicals Are In EVERYTHING

These harmful chemicals are in everything we use on a daily basis, and some of the worst ones are in products we have all started using more of in the last year, cleaning products. Not just cleaning products, but also things like laundry detergent and dryer sheets! Did you know that there is formaldehyde in your laundry detergent? If you don’t know what formaldehyde is, it is what is used to preserve DEAD bodies!!! I am a very ALIVE human being and if you are reading this, you are too and I know I do not want something on my body that is used on dead bodies!!! There is a very popular baby laundry detergent called Dreft and one of the number one chemicals in it is formaldehyde. If I had a baby, I would not want them to be wearing clothes soaked in formaldehyde! Dryer sheets are also horrible! They have hormone disruptors in them and if you are using them in your delicate load, ladies, it can cause infertility and other issues you do not want to have!

Greenwashing

Big name companies and the media have been greenwashing us. We think that in order for something to be “clean” we have to use harsh chemicals that smell way too strong, give us headaches and make us sick. NEWS FLASH! We do not! We can use all natural cleaners that are safe for our home and our bodies to help support our immune systems, instead of making them work harder.

I have made the switch in my home from Clorox to Thieves Cleaner by Young Living. Thieves is a blend of essential oils including clove, cinnamon bark, lemon, rosemary, and eucalyptus. It is a concentrate that you can use on all of your surfaces to make the switch easy for you with just one bottle.

There was a study done where someone wiped the bottom of their shoe, a countertop with raw chicken juice and a random countertop with clorox and thieves and took the sample and waited 72 hours to see the results and here is what they found.

The first picture is of the Clorox sample and the second is of the Thieves sample.

Are you convinced yet? Look at that bacteria on the Clorox sample! We do not need heavy chemicals to clean!

Chemicals Destroy Our Bodies

These heavy, nasty chemicals are destroying our bodies and our health, they are causing cancer, birth defects, infertility and so many other things that are harming us on a daily basis. We need to make our homes a toxic free environment to live healthier and better lives.

What I Started With

You may be overwhelmed with this information as much as I was. As soon as I learned all of this and after months of research, I wanted to start switching my home to cleaner products but I didn’t know how and I didn’t know where to start.

So I did more research and found a company that I know, love, trust and support. Young Living. Like I mentioned early all of their products are completely clean and non toxic. They have a seed to seal promise, meaning that from the time the seed is planted in the ground to the finished product in the bottle, they monitor that entire process to ensure the best quality product possible. To give their consumers peace of mind that what we are consuming is truly clean. And I trust them 100%.

I started with my cleaning products and laundry. I threw out my dryer sheets and replaced them with dryer balls and essential oils. I put two or three dryer balls in each load and put a few drops of lavender or lemon essential oil on them and run the cycle. I then switched to Thieves laundry detergent which can be used on all load types, whites, darks, delicates, etc. and then got the Thieves household cleaner to throw out my clorox wipes, glass cleaner and other toxic household cleaners.

How You Can Too

The non toxic switch will not happen in a day, unless you are made of money, it takes a while and is a learning curve, especially because we are greenwashed by big name brands. I suggest starting with laundry. It is simple and easy to use dryer balls and switch your detergent. Then move on from there.

If you are wanting to start with Thieves cleaner, there is a starter kit available that gives you everything you need to start making the non toxic switch. Simply go to my website, click get started and add the Thieves kit to your order.

If you have any questions about switching to non toxic products or want to simply talk more about it, I would love to talk! You can send me a direct message on social media @kennedyglane, text me (if you have my number) or email me at kennedyglane@yahoo.com.
